Waitstaff was great. My plate would melt your hands off. However, my food wasn't hot, just lukewarm. But I tried my friends' plates, and it was all good. Good for a lunch date!

This was my time at Monterey's. The food was okay, but I thought it was really expensive. We probably won't be going back. The salsa was pretty good. They have a queso bowl that they say they are famous for and it was $8.99 and hardly any queso.
I have fond memories of eating here with my grandparents when I was younger. At that time, I would say it was an average restaurant with average to slightly above average food. I live nearby now, but the reviews within the past few years made me not feel like trying it again. However! Yesterday, I got coupons in the mail and decided to take a chance. I am glad I did! Although it was a take-out order, I could see the place was fairly busy, the inside appeared clean, the staff was nice, and our food was hot and ready to be picked up upon arrival. I had the beef fajita burrito which was huge and smothered in creamy queso. The beef was tender and juicy. Good flavor on the rice and beans. I got a side of chips, guacamole, and salsa and these alone made me believe I will have to dine in next time! Salsa wasn't runny and had a kick to it. The chips are fairly thin, not too greasy, light and crispy. I could do some damage in a basket of those! We also tried the half pound bacon cheeseburger on a jalapeno bun. I was surprised at how delicious a cheeseburger from a Tex-Mex restaurant could be! I was surprised the prices were so competitive and I felt it was a good deal for the amount of food there was. I will be returning to this location soon.
Great food. I had the stuffed chicken with cilantro cream sauce and shrimp, yummy My hubby had the steak fajitas, he said the steak was very good
Great little place in West Tulsa! This place has definitely improved in quality of food, service & presentation of the restaurant. Will be back again & again The pic doesn't do it justice.. was too hungry to take a pic before eating!
Down the road a bit, but access is everything. This place is reminiscent of my days in south Texas. Real Tex-Mex, with a few curves along the way. First, they get five stars for price point. At this location, they have to be competitive, and they are. Prices for everything are good, and in some cases, great. You decide. I'm not giving away all my secrets. They have great drinks at good prices. Food is generous and delicious. Waitstaff is also five star. They have always catered to my personal preferences in seating arrangements, and I am grateful. Always ontime without being intrusive. That folks, is the hallmark, and benchmark, of fine waitstaff, and cannot (really) be taught. It is just intuitive. Is it a hole-in-the-wall type of place? In some ways, yes. Because it is off a major highway with signage, I say no; but there is a vibe... I like them, a lot, and I don't think any of you will be disappointed. Please try them.
